Catch
OUT! Caught. Johnson to Anderson. Short, off stump on the back foot Fended, mis-timed to short leg, fielded by Bailey.

There it is, Mitchell Johnson fittingly takes the final wicket and Australia have won the Ashes with two games to spare. Anderson was squared up by that final delivery and looped a simple catch to Bailey at short leg to give them victory by 150 runs.

Australia went into this match knowing Perth was a happy hunting ground and although they rocked slightly on the first day, a man of the match performance from Steve Smith saw his side through to 385 and put England firmly on the back foot.

A solid opening partnership between Cook and Carberry showed signs of a return to batting form for the English, though the latters dismissal signalled another batting collapse, falling from 85-0 to 251 all out, giving Australia a 134 run lead.

In response, England couldn't find a wicket until the 44th over with the lead at 281. Warner and Watson used the freedom of the lead to bully the English attack, both hitting centuries in quick time and further demoralising their opponents. George Bailey then smashed 28 off the final over of the innings to set England a mammoth 504 for victory.

Australia then got off to the perfect start with Harris snaring Cook first ball of the innings. England then limped to 76-3 before Kevin Pietersen added some impetus with a quick fire 45. Bell and Stokes then gave them a slither of hope with a partnership of 99, before the former was dismissed for 60 with 20 minutes to go of the fourth day. Stokes managed to carry on to his maiden test century and give England a bright light, but in reality they were no where near their opponents in all aspects of the game.

A fully deserved victory for Australia who will go to Melbourne hoping to carry on this form and look to impose the dreaded whitewash on their weary opponents.

Bresnan watches the ball go through and that's Lunch.

A very good session for the English who have shown a lot of character in keeping the probing Aussies out. Ben Stokes has gone to his maiden test century and deserved every run as he has applied himself very well. His shot selection and temperament have been exemplary. The only downpoint for their morning came when Matt Prior nicked off to Johnson for 26. So, the scenario now reads Australia need four wickets and England need 172 runs to win.
