Wicket
OUT! Bowled. Southee to Sharma. Yorker, off stump backing away driving, bottom edge. Tim Southee produces the perfect yorker to hit the base of off stump and seal victory by 24 runs.

An excellent all round performance by New Zealand gives them a 1-0 lead. They were good enough with the bat, kept their head with the ball and recovered well when Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were threatening to win the game and their fielding was superb throughout.

Kohli played one of the great ODI innings. It was his 12th hundred in a runchase and the first time India have failed to win the match. He slapped a full toss from McClenaghan to cover. The left-armer also removed Dhoni and helped change the game as he picked up 4-68. This has all the hallmarks of being an excellent series between two exciting sides.

Special mention must go to Corey Anderson's performance. A quickfire 68 in the first innings and tidy figures of 2-51.
