"We have now official and external proof that the Club is achieving sport’s quality standard in the way it runs its cricket section. Many members of the junior section have put in a lot of work to provide the evidence for the ClubMark standard and this has now shown benefits."

In introducing the evening, Dowse, thanked all those who had contributed to ECB Clubmark accreditation process and urged that their success be viewed as a stepping-stone to ongoing improvement of all aspects of the Club’s activities.

The award was accepted by Cricket Section Chair, Graeme Smith while two of the youngest members of the junior section – Phoebe Austin and Lucas Rossington – presented the Mayor with flowers.
