Clubmark total hits 400 mark

ECB is delighted to announce that as of August 2005, 400 cricket clubs across England and Wales have achieved the ECB’s Clubmark Accreditation.

There are 1294 registered and actively working towards Clubmark Accreditation.

Tessa Whieldon, ECB's National Club Development Officer, said: "All 400 accredited clubs have worked extremely hard to write and implement the required policies and procedures within Clubmark.

"The majority of this work has been done by club volunteers, and ECB commends them for their hard work in this respect."

ECB is working with Sport England on Clubmark, a pioneering club accreditation scheme.

Clubs have a vital role to play in the development of young players. Clubmark sets the entry level for an increasing network of cricket clubs providing good quality cricket programmes for young people.

In addition the Clubmark accreditation scheme is fully integrated with Safe Hands the ECB’s welfare of young people in Cricket policy.

Any clubs interested in registering for Clubmark should contact their local Cricket Development Officer or see the Clubmark page for further details.
