Q: I have very limited knowledge of cricket and very little experience of working in a coaching or teaching environment - what course would be most appropriate for me?
A: The ECB Coaching Assistant course.
Q: I hold the ECB Level I award and wish to upgrade to the ECB Coach Award. How can I do this?
A: There are several components of the Coach Award that were not included in the ECB Level I. From September 2004 attendance on a series of short workshops (2-3 hours) followed by assessment against the Coach Award (UKCC Level 2) criteria. In addition all ECB Coach Award holders will be required to have attended, within the last three years, the Good Practice & Child Protection workshop, an appropriate First Aid course and have completed a CRB disclosure. We would also strongly recommend membership of ECB Coaches Association.
Q: I did my ECB Level II in February 2004 - can I still get on to ECB Level III?
A: Yes, the application process for the ECB Level III will remain in place until January 2006. The new Head Coach (UKCC3) Award will be piloted in May 2006 prior to a formal launch in September 2006. Applicants for the new award, who hold the current ECB Level II will be required to attend a series of workshops prior to acceptance.
Q: I completed the ECB Coach Award (UKCC 2). I want to get on the ECB Head Coach (UKCC3) Award as soon as I can. What do I need to do?
A: There are a series of accredited Coach Development Workshops which must be attended leading into the Head Coach qualification.
