Championship hots up
There is still plenty to play for ahead of the last round of Disabled County Championship matches this coming weekend.
In the Incrediball competition, last year’s champions Lancashire have already booked a semi-final place as have Derbyshire, who won their last match which gave them a two point advantage over Yorkshire.
In the south, Somerset have also booked their place and will play Derbyshire on 5 August at Leamington Cricket Club.
The fourth semi-final slot is between Hampshire, last year’s semi-finalists, and Hertfordshire who are seeking a last-four berth for the very first time. The two sides play each other in Welwyn on Sunday to decide who will progress.
In the Hardball competition semi-final places are even hotter.
In the South division any two from four teams could book semi-final spots.
Surrey are currently in pole position with Hampshire very close behind. However, both Essex and the Isle of Wight are still in contention and a couple of big wins could see them qualify.
In the North, Yorkshire, Cheshire and last year’s winner Lancashire are all vying for the two available places.
