Regional training camps for deaf revealed

England Deaf, 2011 Ashes

The regional training camps for deaf cricketers will be used, among other purposes, as a benchmark to the England and Lions squads

The England Cricket Association for the Deaf and the ECB have arranged the first regional winter training camps for deaf cricketers.

The camps have various purposes: to help local players train under qualified coaches, improve and enjoy their cricket; to use the regional centres as a benchmark to the England and Lions squads; to aid participation in domestic and international tournaments; to help develop deaf counties, clubs and NDCS groups.

Please see the flyers attached below for further information. Players are encouraged to contact their nearest centre of excellence.

The first national indoor cup is set to be played on March 10 or 11. Following this, there will be a super four knockout cup or a Twenty20 tournament in September over one weekend. The squads are encouraged to arrange friendly matches during the summer against either clubs or other regions.
