England set up Aussie showdown

ECB logo - small version

England set up a showdown with old foes Australia after beating Bangladesh by eight wickets to qualify for the semi-finals of the Deaf Cricket World Cup in India.

Needing a victory in their final group game to secure their place in the last four, England bounced back in style from their heavy defeat by Pakistan the previous day.

Bangladesh batted first and were dismissed for 115, with Darrell Sykes claiming his third five-wicket haul (5-28). England reached their target with ease for the loss of two wickets.

England now meet Australia, who remain unbeaten, on Saturday and will be looking to gain revenge for their narrow one-wicket defeat in their second match of the tournament. Pakistan will face India in the other semi-final.
