India Visually Impaired defeated rivals Pakistan by 29 runs at Bangalore to win the first World Twenty20.

Ketan Bhai Patel lifted the hosts, whose only tournament loss was to previously unbeaten Pakistan in the round-robin stage, to 258 with a rapid 98.

The visitors, one of the two original favourites along with India given they both have only full-time professional players, ended their reply nine wickets down.

Pakistan had knocked England out of the competition at the last-four stage.
