Sixteen year old Hampshire cricketer Alex Hammond has made the final three of the Sport Hampshire and Isle of Wight Junior Disability Sportsperson of the Year award.

A hard-hitting opening batsman, Hammond had an outstanding season for the Hampshire Cricket Board Bluebird Care team in 2011.

He topped the British Association for Cricketers with Disabilities National League statistics with 527 runs at an average of over 131 from the six matches played. This included two scores in excess of 150, both unbeaten.

The presentation to the winner is on March 21 at Southampton FC's St Mary's Stadium.
