Double delight for Sprung
Devon Cricket Board Disability Cricket Co-ordinator Perry Sprung collected two awards at the prestigious Active Devon Sport Awards.
Nominated in two categories, Sprung won Volunteer of the Year' and came runner-up in 'Coach of Disabled Performers' category.
Sprung then scooped the evening's big prize - the 'Outstanding contribution to sport in Devon' award.
"I'm lost for words, which is unlike me," said Sprung, who has raised more than £15,000 for disability cricket in Devon.
"I have really only been involved for a short period of time compared to the other great people in the room. I just hope I can continue for as long as they have and have the same impact."
Last season Sprung helped oversee the formation of the Devon Disability team which took part in six fixtures including games in Essex and Surrey.
"Disability Cricket is something that gives me a great deal of satisfaction, not just playing but also watching everyone enjoy playing on a Sunday," he added.
"When we started we lost our first match by a country mile, yet as we progressed through the season we ended up a very commendable third in the Southern Counties League. Considering it was our first year I would say we were very successful.
"The next step is to really grow the game and get more people involved in both playing and administering disability cricket in Devon."
