Six of the best for Lancashire
Lancashire won their sixth Incrediball County Championship title after a thrilling six-run win over Derbyshire at Leamington Spa.
The Red Rose county batted first and were in dire trouble at 11 for three until Pat Scott engineered a recovery or sorts.
He enabled Lancashire to post a competitive 136 which left both teams optimistic of victory at the halfway mark.
As Lancashire did earlier in the day, Derbyshire lost early wickets as their top order faltered against some accurate bowling.
At 37 for four, Derbyshire needed something special and Scott Matthews delivered just that, firing a wonderful 71 which brought his side within touching distance of victory.
However, with a first title seemingly within reach, Derbyshire were left to rue two lbws - including Matthews - and two run outs which handed Lancashire an unlikely victory.
Victorious captain Tony Foster was all smiles moment after picking up the trophy.
"I'm absolutely delighted," Foster told ecb.co.uk.
"We thought Scott had taken it away from us. Again, a topsy-turvy game and we came out on top. I can't stop smiling. We can't believe we've actually won. It's great for Lancashire.
"The game was great for disabled cricket. It was an absolutely fantastic game."
