Surrey crowned champions

Surrey emerged victorious over Wales at the recent Cricket Federation for People with Disabilities UK Tournament held at Oxford Brookes University.

The two teams played each other twice with the overall winner the one who scored the most runs.

In the first match Surrey scored 269 runs to Wales' 218 - a result which was reversed in the second match where Wales outscored their opponents by 25 runs.

However, Surrey were crowned champions by virtue of their heavy victory in the first game which gave them an overall 26 run advantage.

The player of the match trophy was awarded to Christian Stylianou of Surrey for his all round performance.

He scored 19 and 21 in his two visits to the crease and returned 2/18 in the first match.

There were other notable performances including Surrey's Jack Sheppard who starred in the first game, top scoring with 23 and taking 4/15 from three overs.

Wales batsman Alexander Williams was the tournament's top scorer with 23 not out in the first game followed by 40 in the second match.
