England Deaf won their second game in succession against their Australian counterparts to secure a 2-2 draw in the one-day series.

James Dixon smashed an unbeaten 51 off 56 balls, including six fours, to see England to their victory target of 189 with two balls to spare at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.

They had earlier been indebted to opening bowler Darrell Sykes who took 4-22 from his nine overs, including both Australia openers for ducks.

Australia’s middle order ensured they got their team up to a competitive total, with contributions coming from Nick Watkins (43) and Terry Hall (35 not out).

Sykes was ably backed up by Mark Woodman, whose two wickets came at a cost of just 23 runs in 10 overs, and then the former showed his prowess with the bat making 29 in an eighth-wicket stand of 81 with Dixon.

He fell with just eight runs needed for victory, but Dixon saw England home.
