Have you always thought cricket is too difficult or dangerous to play if you have a visual impairment? Think again.
The North East Eagles Visually Impaired Cricket Club are holding an open day on Monday July 14 at Belmont Cricket Club in Durham where people can try out the special form of the game.
The day will start at 10am with coaching and small-sided games of VI (visually impaired) cricket and concludes at 6.30pm after two Twenty20 exhibition games between the Mayor's XI, sponsored by Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, and Northern Galloways Visually Impaired Cricket Club.
There will also be a masterclass on the rules of visually impaired cricket.
Those who attend the day will also receive a goodie bag including free tickets to watch Durham, which includes special in-house commentary of the game.
Places are limited for the taster sessions in the morning so please book by calling Ian Leather on 01477 533817 or 07738 478364. Alternatively e-mail ileathervicnorth@yahoo.co.uk.
