Three and easy for Churchfields
Churchfields were crowned ASDA Kwik Cricket champions just three years after introducing the game into the school.
The jubilant winners, from South Woodford in London, edged out Blackpool Primary School in a dramatic final that went down to the final delivery.
Churchfields posted 231 for six which did not appear enough as Blackpool closed in on victory. However, a run out in the penultimate over changed the game before a tight last over sealed the win.
"The boys held their nerve and they've done it," said Satwinder Chaggar, who runs cricket at Churchfields.
"It was really good bowling at the end and we fielded well. They have done us proud.
"When we won the regionals we thought we had a chance, but when we came here we didn't think we'd win it.
"We've only been doing Kwik Cricket at the school for three years so to achieve this is unbelievable.
"I don't think it has really sunk in yet," added the school's Lisa Leah.
"Probably when we get back to school and they are telling their friends and we'll be speaking to the headteacher - it'll sink in then."
