Essex kick off NatWest CricketForce

Essex County Cricket Board is holding a Natwest CricketForce Roadshow at the Ford County Ground in Chelmsford on Wednesday January 28.

NatWest CricketForce is an annual ECB volunteering event that encourages cricket supporters, their friends and families to give something back to their local community cricket club by volunteering to undertake major renovations to clubhouses and grounds.

ECB clubs programme manager David Leighton will give a presentation about Natwest CricketForce, with over 70 people expected to attend the evening ahead of NatWest CricketForce 2009, which takes place on the weekend of April 3, 4 and 5 2009.

Cricket development administrator Crystal Wuyts said: “The Natwest CricketForce Roadshow will be very insightful and informative and will really help cricket clubs in Essex to better their facilities and encourage more volunteering at their clubs.”

Cricket development officer Graham Pryke confirmed: “NatWest CricketForce will enable much needed work to take place at clubs across the county ensuring the 2009 season gets off to the best possible start."

Cricket development officer Dave Letch added: “All players start their cricket careers at local clubs and it is crucial that we support the game’s development.

“Good facilities and a fun environment can be the difference between youngsters staying with cricket or not and NatWest CricketForce helps make clubs a real focus for community sports activities and volunteering opportunities."
