Purley set for start of season
Purley on Thames members took part in NatWest CricketForce as preparation for the forthcoming season.
Many tasks, such as ground preparation, painting and enhancing facilities were successfully completed with over 300 hours of work by dedicated club members.
Club chairman Martin Bishop praised the event.
“NatWest CricketForce is annually the largest volunteering event in the UK with over 1,600 cricket clubs and an estimated 85,000 volunteers taking part this year," he said.
"It's great that Purley on Thames participates each year and I would like to thank all those who participated in helping us prepare for the season in style."
The club rounded off the event with a fundraising snail racing evening which raised in excess of £400.
The club is currently undergoing pre-season training sessions and is keen to recruit new players for the forthcoming season which starts shortly.
