NatWest CricketForce 2006 - Thinking outside the boundary- Swindon CC

Members of Swindon CC near Dudley, in the West Midlands, will soon be enjoying a 'room upgrade' courtesy of Hilton Hotels, and the swift action of the club's NatWest CricketForce 2006 Coordinator Jacqui Watson.

Jacqui jumped at the chance to take advantage of curtains and lamps donated to NatWest CricketForce 2006 by the hotel group, and travelled to Welwyn Garden City on behalf of the club within days of learning about the offer.

"It may have been a five-hour round trip, but it was absolutely worth it," said Jacqui. "Thanks to the CricketForce team, we now have enough lamps and curtains to completely refit the pavilion."

Following NatWest CricketForce 2005, Swindon was one of 50 clubs nominated across the country to take part in the ECB's FUNdamentals programme, and has used the success of the programme to encourage further inward investment to the Club, to the tune of £25,000.

Working in partnership with local architects, etc. Design Ltd and Swindon Parish Council, the club has drawn up plans to significantly improve its pavilion and grounds even further, for the good of both members and the local village community, and hopes to begin work on structural improvements, including new toilet, changing and showering facilities later this year.

"CricketForce is a fabulous event, which has benefited our club enormously, and I would urge any club that has not yet registered, to do so. It really is easy when you try!" added Jacqui.
