Harrow St Mary's got their NatWest CricketForce fundraising off with a bang, with £1,000 donation from Azko Noble, owners of Dulux.

Alex Rae from the company presented the cheque at a recent U13's training session at Nower Hill School. The donation was arranged by parent John Tighe, whose son Marcus is part of the U13s squad.

Confirmed CricketForce attendees include ECB chief executive David Collier; ECB Head of Non First Class Operations, Paul Bedford; ECB's former Middlesex and England captain Mike Gatting; and former Middlesex and England bowler, now Managing Director of Cricket at Middlesex, Angus Fraser, together with four stars from England women’s Ashes-winning team and double world champions: captain Charlotte Edwards, Isha Gua, local girl Beth Morgan and Laura Marsh.

The full Middlesex squad have already been confirmed as attending the event for the whole day.

NatWest CricketForce is all about involving the wider community and local schools have rushed to become part of the day. The independent Quainton Hall School in Harrow, which has long-term links with HSM and has provided over a dozen county standard players over the last decade, will be joined by Vaughan School and Marlborough School, both from the maintained sector, who are joining the HSM family for the first time.

The youngsters will be able to mingle with current international and county players, taking advantage of impromptu training sessions, together with the fun and games of the ECB Cricket Factory.

Anyone who can provide assistance on the day, sponsorship or goods and materials, should contact HSM CricketForce co-coordinator, Sanjiv Radia, on radias@aol.com or 07940 563157.
