Uppingham Town on top

ECB logo - small version

Rutland club Uppingham Town CC are on an upward curve as they see their sparkling new facilities at their new Castle Hill Ground boost participation across the board on and off the field.

ECB Video took a look around the new pavilion and the pitches on the site outside the east midlands town, and spoke to chairman Charlie Scott and Neil Wedge about how the project and the new facilities had galvanised the club.

"We still pinch ourselves when we come here," said Scott. "We were used to facilities that we were the poor relations of in some way. No to come to this; we have attracted more social and playing members.

"It's fantastic to go out there and play on a lovely wicket, with an outfield purpose-made. The club's in heaven. It's translated into better cricket."
