Hugh Robertson, Minister for Sport and The Olympics, prepares to launch into a cover drive during his visit to the ECB Cricket Factory

The England cricketers were joined by the Minister for Sport and the Olympics at the sailing venue on the same day Ben Ainslie won his fourth gold medal.

As part of the games, cricket joined the country's favourite other sports on Weymouth beach as part of an initiative to get people involved in sport.

Members of the public are encouraged to try the sports for free in a sports arena which is co-ordinated by Active Dorset County Sports Partnership with support from Dorset Country Council (Sports Development), Weymouth and Portland council, national governing sports bodies and over 400 sports volunteers.

Robertson showed admirable technique when he unfurled a few cover drives in the batting challenge which is part of the popular ECB Cricket Factory.
