Burridge get Hants backing
The Hampshire 1st XI squad will be at Burridge cricket club to support the ECB's NatWest Cricket Force initiative on Friday March 23.
NatWest Cricket Force aims to be the largest volunteering initiative in sport during 2007.
This valuable initiative involves volunteers investing their time and energy to assist local community cricket clubs in a range of projects.
Over 60 Hampshire staff will assist the club in various activities to improve the ground's facilities ahead of the forthcoming cricket season.
Hampshire's eager volunteers have been organised into working parties lead by our ground staff to complete a number of important projects.
These activities range from renovating the club's changing rooms, scorer's box and sightscreens, to landscaping and ditch clearing.
Burridge cricket club has received a donation of £24,000 from SITA through the Landfill Communities Fund for new nets at the club.
A group of volunteers will be removing the old nets in preparation for the arrival of the new ones.
B&Q are also supporting the initiative by donating £750 worth of equipment and tools to help the project.
Hampshire's participants will working at Burridge from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
There are already more than 1,100 clubs registered to date - beating the 2006 figure!
