Cares

During the NatWest CricketForce 2005 weekend perhaps you would like some extra bodies to help out with your event? Then advertising your activity on the Cares website could be just what you're looking for!

Cares is the main business led employee volunteering programme in the UK - a Business in the Community initiative. Employees give their time and skills to the communities in which they live and work.

Companies are members of local Cares partnerships and encourage their employees to volunteer. Is your employer/company a member?

Cares is a national partnership network operating in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Cares provides a fun and simple way to get engaged with your community.

Cares was introduced in the United Kingdom about seven years ago. The Cares mission is to create a step-change in volunteering across the UK, by:

  • Making volunteering meaningful, accessible and fun for employees
  • Linking the private sector, community organisations, public and government bodies into taking effective community action
  • Being nationally represented and recognised
  • Building a national and regional membership of nearly 300 employers
  • Providing a simple system that can be delivered to every UK community via employers

Advertising your activity on the Cares website does not mean that you will definitely get the volunteers you need, but it does mean that you will be in with a chance – and it does mean that you will be raising the profile of cricket and your club.

If you feel you would like to advertise opportunities to take part in your NatWest CricketForce 2005 event all you have to do is complete this form Cares - calendar of opportunities registration form (71 KB) and return it to Christine.decruz@ecb.co.uk as soon as possible.

The information you provide will then be posted on the Cares website. This website will take your event directly into the offices of those companies who are involved in the Cares programme.

It will be up to those employees to contact you. If and when they do we suggest that you are able to inform them of the nature of the project you wish them to undertake: do you want them to build/paint a scoreboard or perhaps you want a BBQ area paved? Whatever the project, let them know so that they are able to get a team together and come prepared!

Please find below further information about Cares as well as a directory of its offices:
