Ellerslie digging out a success

Ellerslie Cricket Club in West Bridgford completed a whole host of tasks on their successful NatWest CricketForce 2008 weekend.

The Little Bounds ground saw the digging out of the base area for the pavilion extension accomplished, making the next step possible – and arrangements are ‘in hand’.

In spite of the rain and snow, many other ongoing annual tasks were also completed, including:

Rolling the square continuously on the Friday from 9am to 4.30 pm, with heavy roller hired for the day
Repairing holes in the perimeter protective netting
Marking out the non-turf pitch and the practice net crease lines
Putting the covers on the frames and thoroughly cleaning all three
Maintenance work on the sightscreens
Repairing and inspecting the man-hole cover over the septic tank at rear of the pavilion
Washing and polishing all the crockery, etc
Stored newly donated cooker in the garage (for future use)
Cleaned and swept out the score box
Cleaned the passage way to the changing rooms and the path in front of the pavilion
Constructed concrete ramp for wheelchair access into pavilion area
Cutting the outfield (interrupted by rain)
Strimming around the perimeter of the ground
Consuming the usual quantity of ‘healthy eating’ hotdogs, biscuits, cups of tea, etc
