England's Jones and ECB Chairman help St Fagans

England bowler Simon Jones and ECB chairman David Morgan visited St Fagans CC in Cardiff to add a gloss to their NatWest CricketForce 2006 weekend.

Also on hand to help were a healthy contingent of Glamorgan players including Darren Thomas, Mark Wallace, David Harrison, Adam Harrison, William Bragg and Huw Waters, who joined team-mate Jones in helping with the painting at the ground plus coaching the St Fagans youngsters.

On Sunday, David Morgan paid a visit to the club to present them with their commemorative NatWest CricketForce 2006 plaque.

In return the club presented the ECB chairman with a framed landscape photograph of the Club.

Overall the St Fagans event was a huge success, attracting over 100 volunteers to take part. Projects completed included:

  • refurbishing the Bar Area
  • painting the sightscreens
  • rebuilding the covers
  • painting the picket fence around the pavilion
  • refurbishing the scorebox ready for installation of a new electronic scoreboard, plus many other jobs.
