All cricket clubs, including those taking part in NatWest CricketForce 2005, can possibly benefit from a new grants scheme for renovation work announced by DIY chain B&Q.
B&Q, whose branches locally have already been providing ad hoc assistance to some clubs in preparation for this year’s CricketForce event, have announced that £100,000 will be available for sports clubs nationwide through the B&Q ‘You Can Do It’ Awards 2005.
Twenty B&Q ‘You Can Do It’ Awards worth £5,000 of B&Q products will be donated to community and charitable organisations across the UK – including sports clubs.
Cricket clubs interested in applying for an award can do it via the B&Q website or by calling the B&Q hotline number on 0845 300 1001 from Monday January 17 onwards.
The closing date for applications is Friday March 18 2005. It is a condition that a project’s planned renovation work must be completed by Sunday September 25 2005 and that no planning permission is pending.
