Former England seamer Glen Chapple and Gary Keedy will be just two of the many Lancashire players supporting the NatWest CricketForce 2008 initiative this weekend.
The duo will be at Trimpell cricket club in Morecambe between 11am and 1pm on Saturday as clubs up and down the country get their season started by repairing their grounds and pavilions and recruit volunteers on April 4, 5 and 6.
Over 1350 clubs have now registered, compared to 1150 in 2007, and that number is growing daily.
In the North West there are 195 clubs taking part with Lancashire chairman Jack Simmons, players Oliver Newby and Luke Sutton, plus Lancashire cricket board director Andy Hayhurst due to appear at Whalley cricket club on Saturday.
Elsewhere Tom Smith and Lancashire chief executive Jim Cumbes will be putting in some hard graft at Formby Cricket Club while Bolton will benefit from endeavours of Lancashire cricket manager Mike Watkinson, Steven Mullaney and Steve Parry and Horwich cricket club will be assisted by Gareth Cross and Karl Brown.
