Hampshire captain and England all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas will be at Hambledon cricket club for the NatWest CricketForce showcase event on Saturday.
Mascarenhas will be present along with the ECB roadshow team and members of the local community as part of a two-day initiative.
Hampshire’s staff and players will be spending Friday participating in a range of renovation projects with local volunteers and the players will also lead coaching session and activity sessions for local children and junior club members.
NatWest CricketForce is a nationwide initiative designed to help local cricket clubs and improve facilities. Over 1,200 clubs across the UK have already registered. Last year it attracted over 80,000 volunteers, making it the largest sporting volunteer campaign in the country.
Hambledon CC have been selected as an ECB showcase club, one of only five in the UK and the first one in Hampshire to receive such an honour.
Hambledon honorary secretary Chris de Mellow said: “Hambledon cricket club has been delighted with the response from local businesses and very grateful of the support received from Hampshire Cricket for their NatWest CricketForce weekend.
“It is hoped that everyone's endeavour's will leave a lasting legacy for the club in the future."
