NatWest CricketForce 2009 - Climate Cover offer

Swindon New Covers

The new Climate Cover sheet in place at Swindon CC at their NatWest CricketForce 2006 event

Climate Cover Ltd have signed for the fourth successive year as an Official Supporter of NatWest CricketForce - and are offering all registered clubs a 20 per cent discount off their revolutionary turf protection covers - Climate Cover System™.

In addition, after every 15 NatWest CricketForce 2009 registered clubs have taken up the exclusive offer and purchased a The Climate Cover System™, Climate Cover Ltd are also offering a free turf cover as a prize to an ECB-nominated registered club!

The Climate Cover System™ is the lightest, strongest and only breathable sports turf cover in the world; it is manufactured from a unique material, making it an extremely lightweight and incredibly strong turf protection system - with the unique benefit of allowing the grass plant to breathe.

Climate Cover

The health of the plant is essential for it to perform and withstand the stress it endures from surface preparation and play.

Climate Cover 2

Beneath any sports turf covering system, a micro-climate or micro-environment is created for the grass plant to grow in. The wrong type of covering material will prevent essential ultra violent rays from reaching the plant and cause a 'sweating' effect by stopping air circulation.

This reduction in levels of sunlight reaching the grass plant prevents photosynthesis from taking place, therefore making the plant very weak.

Lack of air circulation causes a rise in humidity or 'sweating' and, in turn, makes the plant prone to disease and the turf 'greasy' when the cover is first removed.

The Climate Cover System™ has overcome these challenges, providing a solution that:

  • allows over 60 per cent of the ultra violet rays available to reach the plant (independently tested), therefore enabling healthy grass growth when covered for short or long periods
  • helps prevent the 'sweating' effect, the Climate Cover System offers the ONLY 100 per cent waterproof turf covering system, which still allows the plant to breathe
  • allows over 30 per cent of water vapour to escape through the cover due to air circulation, thus reducing humidity, stale air and a grass plant disease .

In 2007, a chosen club to benefit from a free Climate Cover System was Bells Yew Green CC in East Sussex, who received their new state of the art flat-sheet cover at their NatWest CricketForce 2007 event.
