Coventry-based club Highway CC embraced NatWest CricketForce - and literally laid the foundations for their future success with some impressive groundworks that captured the imagination of the local community.

ECBtv spoke to Highway's Mike Thornton and Jamie Marsh while enjoying a rip-roaring CricketForce Saturday in the midlands sunshine.

And with visits from England world cup winners Jenny Gunn and Nicky Shaw, as well as Ashley Giles and a contingent from Edgbaston, to bolster the spirits, the large turnout from the club, local businesses and volunteers ensured a whole host of positives as Highway look forward to summer 2009, and many more ahead.
