Case Study - Adam Marsh
Name: Adam Marsh
Age: 18
Occupation: Student
Voluntary Role: Websites and Filming / Editing, Benfleet CC and ECB
Alongside studying film and media at college, I have always had a big interest in producing media products.
I had played cricket for a few years as a member of the youth team at Benfleet CC before I asked to join the committee to attempt to sort out the club's website; updating it with scorecards and match reports, as well as rejuvenating the general look of it.
After attending a couple of meetings around the club and county I learnt about the vCricket initiative and decided to get involved.
Through the vTeam, I gained several contacts and opportunities became available to me. One in particular was 'MTV's Boom!' project, which supported potential filmmakers from community youth groups.
The course was great for me. I went through the basics of filmmaking and from there I was asked to collaborate with the ECB was amazing.
I have gained priceless experience from my volunteering, by working with helpful and kind professionals which will ultimately help me with any job I may apply for.
Not to mention making new friends, having a good time and most importantly feeling good about doing what I enjoy to help others.
I’d definitely recommend young people to get involved with vCricket!
