The summer campaign will get under way on Friday, April 13 next year with the traditional curtain-raiser between MCC and the reigning Liverpool Victoria County Champions, Sussex, at Lord’s.

LV County Championship

The south coast county will kick off the defence of their championship crown the following week as they host Kent at Hove from April 18 in the first round of matches in Division One.

Newly-promoted Surrey have an appetising opener against Yorkshire, while last year’s runners-up Lancashire travel to Edgbaston to face Warwickshire.

Following their dramatic last-day relegation in September, 2005 champions Nottinghamshire begin life in Division Two with a visit from midlands neighbours Leicestershire to Trent Bridge.

These matches will take place on Wednesday, June 20. The showpiece Trophy Final at Lord’s takes place on Saturday August 18.
