The England and Wales Cricket Board has received two nominations for the vacant position of deputy chairman after the resignation of Michael Soper last month.
The nominees are Dennis Amiss, who was proposed by Warwickshire and seconded by Worcestershire and Kent, and Lancashire chairman Jack Simmons, who was proposed by Yorkshire and seconded by Sussex and Essex.
There will now be an election conducted by the Electoral Reform Society in which the chairman of the 18 first-class counties and the MCC are invited to vote. The closing date for this ballot will be November 2 2007.
The winner of the election will then be endorsed by the full membership of the ECB. The deputy chairman's term of office will run until March 31 2010.
