The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced that Dennis Amiss has been proposed unopposed by the 18 first-class counties and MCC to continue as deputy chairman of the board.

Mr Amiss, the former England and Warwickshire opening batsman, has been deputy chairman since November 2007.

His nomination will now go to all 41 members of the ECB for election. This process will close on January 13, 2010.
