The Electoral Reform Society has informed the England and Wales Cricket Board that Dennis Amiss won the election for the position of ECB deputy chairman, beating Lancashire chairman Jack Simmons by eight votes to seven with one abstention.
Amiss will now be put forward to the 41 members of the ECB for endorsement as ECB deputy chairman.
The endorsement process will conclude on November 16, 2007.
The term of office of the ECB deputy chairman will run until March 31, 2010.
