Clarke penalised for dissent
The England and Wales Cricket Board today confirmed that Warwickshire's Rikki Clarke has received a penalty under the ECB's discipline code.
During the LV= County Championship match between Warwickshire and Worcestershire on August 8-11 2012, Clarke was reported by umpires Mark Benson and Neil Bainton for a Level One breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire's decision by word or action).
As this incident was within 24 months of a previous offence, Clarke has received a three-point penalty. This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
