Clarke endorsed by ECB

Giles Clarke has been confirmed as chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The Electoral Reform Society reported that Mr Clarke was endorsed nem con by the 41 members of the ECB. Clarke had been put forward for endorsement after winning the election among the 18 first-class counties and the MCC held in September. Clarke beat Michael Soper 12 votes to six in the election.

Clarke said: "I am extremely honoured to be endorsed by the full membership of the ECB as the next chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board.

"I am also grateful for the confidence that the county chairmen and their committees have shown in me and I look forward to repaying that support."
