Clarke re-elected ECB chairman
The England and Wales Cricket Board today announced that Giles Clarke has successfully been re-elected as chairman of the ECB following the completion of the election process conducted by electoral reform services.
The 41 members of the ECB, which comprises the 18 first-class counties, 21 county boards, the MCC and the Minor Counties Cricket Association, returned Clarke as chairman for a second term until March 31 2011.
Giles Clarke was put forward to the full membership of the ECB following the withdrawal of Lord Marland of Odstock from the nomination process. At the time of withdrawal, 16 votes had been cast from the 18 first-class counties and MCC. Clarke was ahead 14-2.
Electoral reform services have confirmed that nominations will open tomorrow for a recreational assembly nominee and a first-class county chairmen nominee to join the ECB board.
