Finn rewarded with ECB contract
The ECB has announced that Middlesex seamer Steven Finn, who earlier this week claimed man-of-the-match honours against Bangladesh in the first npower Test of the summer, has been awarded an incremental contract for 2009-10.
The 21-year-old, who has graduated from the England Performance Programme and England Lions squads, qualifies for the award by virtue of having played four Test matches for England, including two on the recent winter tour of Bangladesh and two against the same opposition during the current npower Test series.
Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system.
Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a Twenty20 or one-day international appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.
