The England and Wales Cricket Board has received two nominations for the position of chairman of cricket, which was vacated when Dennis Amiss was elected as deputy chairman.
The nominations are Clive Leach - proposed by Durham and seconded by Surrey and Warwickshire - and Jack Simmons, who was proposed by Yorkshire and seconded by Lancashire and Essex.
A ballot is now required and will be run by the Electoral Reform Society with papers being distributed to the first-class county chairmen and the MCC chairman early in January 2008.
The successful candidate will serve until March 31, 2010.
