Australia and Pakistan have not met in a Test since 2005, when Ricky Ponting hit 207 at the Sydney Cricket Ground
The England and Wales Cricket Board yesterday adopted the recommendations of the Independent Major Match Group to award the two npower Test matches against Bangladesh to Old Trafford and Lord’s next summer.
It will be Old Trafford's first Test match since 2008, after it was decided to switch the game from Headingley Carnegie, who will now, along with Lord's, host the neutral Test matches between Pakistan and Australia.
The Pakistan versus Australia Twenty20 internationals will both be at Edgbaston, while Cardiff will host the two Twenty20 international matches between England and Pakistan.
Giles Clarke, the ECB chairman, said: “I thank Lord Morris of Handsworth and his MMG as well as Gordon Hollins, ECB head of venue partnerships, for the sensible approach they have made to ensure that the largest number of members of the Pakistani ethnic community across Britain can see the neutral Test matches between Pakistan and Australia as well as ensuring a good geographical spread of the matches.”
In 2011, the Twenty20 international match against India will be at Old Trafford and the Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka will be at Bristol.

I'm pleased to see Bangladesh touring and continuing to develop. However they still have some way to go until they can be considered top class opposition and I hope the pricing structure reflects this.I'm sure no-one wants to see matches played in empty grounds.

Does the ECB know which month the 2011 summer dates are announced? My guess is not for a while.

I'm pleased Old Trafford is getting plenty of international cricket as it's my nearest international cricket ground. I'm delighted that England v India T20 is in Manchester because one of my parents is English and the other is Indian so I really enjoy england v india matches. Couldn't have worked out better! Thank you, ECB and MMG. I know ECB won't know yet but I would like to know when the date is.
