Petersen and Cheetham penalised
The England and Wales Cricket Board today confirmed that Alviro Petersen and Steven Cheetham have received penalties under the ECB’s discipline code.
During the Clydesdale Bank 40 match between Glamorgan and Nottinghamshire on July 31, Petersen was reported by umpires Peter Hartley and Steve Gale for a level two breach of the code (showing serious dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action).
Petersen has received three penalty points, which will remain on his record for a period of two years.
During the Second XI Trophy match between Lancashire and Warwickshire on August 2, Cheetham was reported by umpires Billy Taylor and Roy Froggatt for a level one breach of the code (showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by word or action).
Cheetham has received a reprimand, which will remain on his record for a period of two years. Any further level one breach during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
