Shantry penalised by ECB
The England and Wales Cricket Board today confirmed that Worcestershire's Jack Shantry has received a penalty under the ECB's discipline code.
During Worcestershire’s Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Lancashire on August 27 2012, Shantry was reported by Neil Bainton and Peter Willey for a Level Two breach of the code (throwing the ball at or near a player, umpire or official in an inappropriate and dangerous manner).
The penalty for a Level Two offence is three points. This penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
