Surrey paceman penalised

The England and Wales Cricket Board have confirmed that Surrey cricketer, Jade Dernbach, has received six penalty points under the ECB’s discipline code following an incident during Surrey’s Second Xl Trophy match against MCC Young Cricketers on June 26 2007.

Dernbach was reported by umpires George Sharp and Bob Sutton for a Level Three breach of the code (intimidating an Umpire).

The penalty points remain on Dernbach’s record for a period of two years. The accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
