Charlotte Edwards is set to lead England women in five Twenty20 internationals with their West Indies counterparts during September

The ECB today announced fixtures for an additional NatWest Women’s T20 Series in September 2012.

England women will play West Indies women in a five-match Twenty20 series with the first two games at the Emirates Durham ICG and Old Trafford, on September 8 and 10 respectively, scheduled directly before England men take on South Africa in T20 internationals and broadcast live on Sky Sports.

The third women's T20 will be played at the County Ground, Northampton, on September 13 followed by the penultimate match at the PROBIZ County Ground, Hove, two days later. The series will culminate with the fifth T20 at the Friends of Arundel Castle Cricket Club in Sussex on September 16.

The series will be the last international competition for both teams before the Women’s World T20 in Sri Lanka, which starts two weeks later.

ECB head of England Women’s Cricket Clare Connor said: “The additional NatWest Women’s T20 Series this summer is a huge bonus for the England women’s team and for women’s cricket.

“I’m delighted that international women’s cricket will be showcased alongside the England men’s matches in Durham and Manchester. Spectators will be treated to an exciting opportunity to experience two sets of double-header games before the teams fly out to Sri Lanka a couple of weeks later for the ICC World Twenty20.

“It’s fantastic once again that two matches will be shown live on Sky Sports for viewers to experience international women’s cricket at its best.”
