Clarke praises Morgan OBE
ECB chairman Giles Clarke has praised his predecessor David Morgan after the previous ECB chairman was awarded an OBE in the Queen's birthday honours.
"I am delighted that David Morgan has been awarded the OBE in the Queen's birthday honours list. He was an outstanding chairman of the ECB and an outstanding ambassador for the game in that country," said Clarke.
"I am sure his quiet and effective diplomacy will be welcomed at the International Cricket Council when he takes over as president at the start of July."
David Collier, the ECB chief executive, added: "David Morgan was responsible for modernising the governance of the ECB and creating a governing body which allows cricket in England and Wales to develop and prosper.
"His inclusion in the Queen's birthday honours list is richly deserved."
