ECB Officials Association - statement re training courses and exams
Members may have seen the statement issued by ACU&S on November 3 2006 which states that ECB OA will not have any training courses or examinations available before October 2007.
It has been pointed out to ACU&S that this statement is incorrect and that courses and examinations for the ECB OA Umpiring Levels 1 and 2 will be available in the New Year, enabling candidates to take the relevant examination before the start of the 2007 season. A correction to the ACU&S statement is awaited.
As candidates cannot take the ECB OA examinations until the first quarter of 2007 ACU&S qualifications will be recognised by ECB OA for all those who apply for ECB OA membership by March 31 2007, rather than 31 December 2006 as originally indicated.
ACU&S qualifications will continue to be recognised after this date if there is not an equivalent ECB OA examination or qualification available, and in addition individual cases will be assessed on a sympathetic basis after March 31 2007.
