ECB ACO - Membership

The ECB is inviting applications for membership from umpires and scorers who wish to join the ECB Association of Cricket Officials.

Membership is open to all umpires and scorers including those outside England and Wales.

Membership Pack – includes a copy of each of the four ECB directives and guidelines, pin badge, key ring, two cloth bades and an ACO Duncan Fearnley catalogue

Licensed Clothing & Specialist Resources – quote your membership number on the Duncan Fearnley website or when you call them to purchase a wide range of merchandise and educational materials

Classes of Membership

Full membership - includes full insurance cover and is open to anyone who is an active official on the field or off the field in the role of a trainer/assessor. Prospective members must have completed a vetting check.

Associate membership - available to individuals who are no longer actively involved in umpiring/scoring. No insurance is provided and CRB clearance is not required.

Young Officials membership - open to all in the age group 14-25. Full insurance cover will be provided once the member has reached their 16th birthday. They must have completed a vetting check and also if between the ages of 14-18, they must complete a Young Officials Form (30 KB).

EU Membership - includes full insurance cover and is open to anyone who is an active official on the field or off the field in the role of a trainer/assessor based in the EU. Prospective members do not have to complete a vetting check. (ICC Europe will be in charge of vetting before fixtures). Please see our Insurance page for details of which European Countries are not members of the EU and therefore are not entitled to EU membership

Overseas Membership – is open to anyone who is based outside of the EU. No insurance is provided and CRB clearance is not required.

Subscription Rates

Full member - £20 direct debit, £22 cheque/credit card
Associate member - £10, £12
Young Officials member (14-25 years old) - £5, £7
EU member - £20 direct debit, £22 credit card, €25 Euro Cheque
Overseas member - £10, £12, €15

Membership application process

Applications for membership can be submitted to the ACO Membership Team by completing the form below. Direct Debit and Credit Card forms can be completed and sent in with an application form. Alternatively, please make cheques payable to 'ECB Association of Cricket Officials'.

ECB reserves the right to refuse to accept applications for membership.

Vetting Checks

All prospective Full and Young Officials (14-25 yrs old) members must complete a vetting check with the ECB. The checks are valid for three years from the date of issue.

Vetting forms can be obtained from either calling 0115 969 4603 or emailing ecb@tmgcrb.co.uk. You can also contact your County Cricket Development Manager or County Welfare Officer.

If you are based abroad and wish to officiate in England or Wales you need to submit an Overseas Vetting Form 2010 - Officials (33 KB). This form includes all the relevant police checks. Please note the different return address on the form.

Timescales

Membership processing will take up to 10 weeks if you have to complete a vetting check. If you already have a valid vetting check, membership will take four to six weeks.

This includes payment processing and the production of your membership card and pack. All direct debit subscriptions are collected on or around 15th of every month.
