Sam speaks to Sky Sports News about his use of the CricHQ app

ECB ACO Young Official Sam Griffin has featured on Sky Sports News, as they featured the CricHQ scoring app.

With cricket scoring apps playing an increasingly prominent part in recreational cricket, with live scores now able to be published online, Sky Sports News took a look at the app in action, and spoke to Sam about how he used it.

Sam, part of ECB ACO’s Young Official scoring squads, currently scores in Surrey, and at the age of 13 is the youngest scorer in the country to reach a certified level 2 standard.

Giving both umpires and scorers under the age of 25 more opportunities to officiate – including outings to Lord’s, National Junior Finals at Oakham, and the Nott’s Youth Festival to name just a few – the ECB ACO hopes to develop confident, competent officials from playground to test arena.
